Helping an Art Gallery Establish in Ginza
From the first visit to opening its doors in Tokyo
The Challenge
In late 2023, an international art gallery approached Tokyo Immo with the ambition of establishing its presence in Japan.
Finding the right location was only one part of the challenge. The gallery needed a space that matched its positioning and requirements, while navigating the practical steps involved in establishing a business in Japan.
Our Approach
The project involved three separate visits to Japan.
During each visit, we spent several days visiting and comparing potential properties, refining the search based on the gallery's requirements and vision for its Tokyo location.
The search ultimately focused on finding the right space in Ginza, one of Tokyo's most prominent commercial and cultural districts.
During their third visit, the gallery established its Japanese business structure, allowing the project to move forward toward securing the premises.
The Result
The gallery signed its lease at the end of 2024.
The selected floor was delivered as a completely new, empty space, requiring a substantial interior renovation before it could welcome visitors.
Following the renovation, the gallery officially opened in 2025.
